Little Piggies

I have learned many valuable life lessons throughout the 15 months of motherhood I have experienced thus far- one of the most important being that time flies by entirely too fast! Watching Isla grow and develop has been an amazing, and sometimes mind-boggling, gift. I am so very thankful for every day with our sweet girl, but sometimes I can’t help but wish time would slow down a bit. I desperately want to savor each precious stage, preserving it as perfectly as I can in my mind and heart.

I find that Isaac and I share wide-eyed glances and excitedly ask one another, “Did you see that?”  or “Did you hear that?” multiple times a day. We cannot get over how quickly Isla changes. Suddenly she tries something new for the first time, and a moment later she’s mastered it. We are in complete awe as we experience our sweet baby girl morph into a little person before our very eyes.

While I have certainly not been in any rush for Isla to grow up, I must admit I’ve dreamed of when she’d have enough hair for her first little pigtails. I cannot believe how much older they make her look! She’s a true toddler when she rocks those darling little piggies…

Isla is quite the little sous-chef and she loves to help in the kitchen. She enthusiastically sniffs whatever is cooking and says, “Mmmmmm!” Becoming more dextrous every day, she now looks for opportunities to help stir and mix anything she can.More than anything, however, she LOVES to spin dry the lettuce. She is our official house salad spinner.

And since our baby girl is charging into her toddler phase with her spunky little piggies, we thought this would be an appropriate time to update our website header a bit. Bidding this sweet little baby face farewell…
