Cole’s First Haircut

This month Cole had his first haircut and it felt like such a BIG milestone! We were so torn about cutting his wild and adorable baby curls. We actually went back and forth about whether to do it for weeks. Part of me feels silly for being so attached to his hair, but of course the true attachment is in the symbolism. Those sweet curls are among the final fleeting signs of his babyhood, and it was sure hard to say goodbye to them.

We read great reviews about Lil Snippers up in Vancouver and noticed they had fun car chairs, so we decided to take Cole there. It was such a great choice! Our stylist spent a lot of time talking with us about our options, and she was so gentle and patient with Cole. At one point he wanted to get out of the car and started to cry. Another stylist came right over and started blowing bubbles for him. It was the perfect distraction, and we had a happy boy once more!As hard as it was to say goodbye to Cole’s curls, we absolutely LOVE his new big boy haircut! The back of his little head (and the way his ears stick out just slightly) is too cute for words!!! This sounds crazy, but it seems like more than his appearance has changed. It seriously feels like we have a new little person living with us. I’m not sure if his haircut coincided with a bunch of new synapses forming or what, but Cole feels different to us. A little sweeter and definitely a lot more grown up. There’s no doubt about it; we have a big boy now!
