Fabulous 4th of July Fun!

We have been dreaming of our week at the beach cabin for months!  I can’t even begin to recall the number of times Isaac would look over at me and sigh, “I wish we were at the cabin.”  I found my mind leaning towards thoughts of the beautiful Winema coastline as well, so when it was finally our week to go (over 4th of July as well- bonus!) we couldn’t be more ready!  We were blessed with some incredible sunny days during our stay, and the most brilliant may have been the 4th itself. Even better than the weather was our time with family- treasured moments we will carry with us always!

.

On the 4th we enjoyed a leisurely morning.  Rachel and Cheryl made the most adorable red, white, and blue sugar cookies, while Isaac whipped up his scrumptious version of McGriddles for everyone.  We enjoyed our breakfast on the deck, blinking in the bright sunlight and letting the warmth of the sun soak into our shoulders.

Sandy gifted us all with some new red, white, and blue gear, so we took a few patriotic family pictures=).

Auntie Jenni and Morgan silliness =)

With full bellies, we made our way down the hill to the beach for the afternoon.  Morgan sported her too-cute-for-words yellow bum-ruffle swimsuit, and I don’t think it was possible for her to look any cuter!  She eagerly walked to the shoreline and let the icy water rush over her little feet.  She is a water baby for sure!  The boys entertained themselves by playing frisbee, while the girls sunbathed- yes, sunbathed in Oregon! Can you believe it?!

As the sun began its slow descent through the sky, we returned to the cabin to put the final touches on our 4th of July BBQ feast: hamburgers, brawts, my Great Auntie Elaine’s baked beans, and potato salad. Delish!  We again enjoyed our meal bathed in sunshine on the deck.

We had gone to Pacific City on the 2nd to see their fireworks show, and unfortunately, we were in the wrong spot.  We only saw the fireworks people were setting off on their own, and they were often bursting far too low for our comfort levels!  On the 4th we watched fireworks flickering in the distance, as they showered colorful lights over Newskowin.  We had purchased some small fireworks and sparklers, but never did end up using them.  Oh well!  Maybe next year=).

Sneaky Isaac pulling a little switcheroo on the beach!

Going to play in the water!

Morgan discovered that her water bottle straw squeaked every time she stopped drinking… this lead to a good 15 minutes of entertainment and giggles!

Morgan LOVED wearing her 4th of July necklaces… and everyone else’s too!

.Isaac and I entertained ourselves, and Rach kindly documented… =)

Later in the evening, Isaac and Morgan snuggled up to read a book.  I love watching these two together…

We are already counting down to our next week at the cabin!
