Take us back to Thailand!

The sun was slipping below the horizon as we stepped onto the beach and sunk our feet into the silky sand. A gentle breeze was rising off of the waves and drifting over the land. Working our way down to the water’s edge we found ourselves walking in the opposite direction of most of the people around us. Salty haired tourists, in a sun-baked daze after hours of laying and playing in the heat, were gathering their towels and staggering off the beach in large numbers.Tossing our flip flops aside, we stepped into the warm surf, and inhaled deep breaths of the fresh salty air. Walking through the tide towards the restaurants we let the beauty of our surroundings soak in. Stopping every so often to gaze out at the waves, snap a few photos, steal a few kisses…

Life, at that moment, couldn’t have been more perfect!

Oh, we wish we were back in Thailand! There is just something about that part of the world that has worked its way into our bones… the feeling that we belong there. That realization grows stronger with every visit, as does our determination to find a way to make it a reality. It will happen. Someday…

Until then, we’ll have to live off of our beautiful memories from our time in the balmy, enchanting region, including our most recent week of relaxation in Kata Beach.

We took the opportunity to visit a beautiful international school on the north side of the island during our stay. At a red light our driver leaned out his window and bought a new offering from a roadside vendor.

Trying to get water out of his ears=)

Tropical air makes for a foggy lens. On a side note, I cannot recommend Sawasdee Village highly enough! Incredibly beautiful, tranquil grounds, comfortable rooms, lovely staff, yummy food… we were so relaxed and satisfied with the hotel that we rarely left the pool’s side the entire week!

Spring rolls don’t tend to last long around us…
